The Elastic Cloud Storage (ECS) Team is seeking senior level professional sales over achievers to take on division wide coverage and responsibilities to catapult EMC into the next era in storage. EMC’s ECS (Elastic Cloud Storage) promises customers affordable and highly efficient ways to store and retrieve object files across a range of infrastructures and geo distributed object depositories. Sales professionals with ECS are expected to function autonomously to meet and exceed assigned quota, build territory revenue, prospect and close named accounts against established competition through individual initiative and by leveraging the core EMC Sales Team and professional resources. Successful candidates will have a proven record of establishing and nurturing relationships with all levels of customer organizations and be able execute account strategies and coordinate team-selling efforts with EMC’s core selling team for a portfolio to close business on a quarterly and annual basis. All ECS account managers are required to maintain accurate forecasting and communication with management while driving customer satisfaction in all assigned accounts. All applicants must have excellent communication skills and a consistent track record of exceeding quota in a fast-paced sales environment. Successful applicants possess knowledge in the areas of: storage sales (software based storage – is a big plus), professionalism, integrity, strong presentation and collaboration skills, and a passion for winning.

Desired Industry Experience and Technical Prowess:

  • Public/Private cloud solution expertise

  • Knowledge of and experience with software defined storage

  • Firm understanding of the storage industry, especially File/Object base storage, Big Data and cloud native applications

  • Knowledge of geo distributed object depositories

  • Ability to drive customer transformation to the 3 rd Platform


  • Meet and exceed quarterly and annual quota objectives

  • Manage all opportunities to increase deal size and accelerate the buying process

  • Understand an execute on sales processes, product and service value propositions

  • Build pipeline by developing relationships with top tier prospects, partners and customers

  • Accurately forecast respective regional opportunities

  • Conduct weekly sales meetings and participate in quarterly business reviews to ensure effective selling and efficient engagement of aligned resources

  • Participate in customer meetings to validate our positioning, qualify opportunities and facilitate the closing process

  • Cultivate and maintain internal relationships across key stakeholders in the Isilon business and core to ensure the support of sales initiatives

  • Maintain accurate management of all opportunities in Salesforce.com

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience selling storage, experience with software defined and object storage preferred

  • Strong experience managing multi-tiered customer relationships. Demonstrated ability to penetrate and close new accounts and opportunities

  • Strategic account planning experience; history of proactive creation and ongoing management of detailed account plans for a portfolio

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed environment, fostering communication within specialized and core sales teams, while promoting independent activities and parallel efforts

  • Consistent track record of exceeding quota while maintaining customer loyalty and required product margins

  • Excellent communication, team work, presentation, problem solving, and time management skills

  • Willingness and ability to travel 30-40% of the time.

  • Competitive, refuse-to-lose attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent team building and listening skills.

  • BA/BS in Business, Management, Computer Science, or Engineering fields.

  • Ability to manage channel partners as needed.
