Job Description:

As the Sr. Director of Product Marketing for Isilon, you will be a cornerstone of the Isilon executive team, helping to steer overall GTM.

  • You will develop and manage product marketing programs to maximize revenues for the sales of EMC Isilon, a key product within the Emerging Technologies Portfolio of EMC.

  • You will develop and implement marketing strategies to respond to changing and/or competitive environments which will include product positioning, messaging, thought leadership, sales enablement and Go-To-Market (GTM).

  • You will partner with Sales leadership to identify the top strategic partnerships (OEM, SI’s, etc) that are targeting run rates north of $100M annually. You will own the plan and engagement with these partnerships, working closing with the ETD business development team and Isilon sales teams.

A strong understanding of the storage and/or IT datacenter market and products, relationship management skills, and experience marketing in a high-technology, dynamic environment is crucial to your success. You will develop long-term strategies and shorter-term marketing plans to meet aggressive deadlines. You must be extremely results driven, customer focused, technologically savvy, and skilled at building internal relationships and external partnerships from the CIO level to the day to day IT administrator. You must have strong people management and leadership skills with the ability to lead senior and junior team members through change and ambiguity, and in a fast paced organization.

As the Sr. Director of Product Marketing you are part of a dynamic team that delivers value to the Isilon business and supports sales and revenue generation goals. Your team is tasked to:

  • Be a key go/no go decision maker on Isilon executive staff team based on the above strategies.

  • Identify and execute large revenue driving strategic partnerships, north of $100M annually.

  • Partner across all cross functional units with Isilon, ETD and Dell Technologies.

  • Partner with sales leadership to drive a strong GTM for new channel and mid-market sales organizations.

  • Work with the product management and alliance teams to create compelling marketing materials that provide clear articulation of unique differentiation and customer benefits.

  • Develop marketing programs in collaboration with business unit and corporate marketing and sales teams to meet marketing objectives and revenue targets.

  • Own and manage product launch strategy and end-to-end execution of all key deliverables for launches.

  • Establish, enhance and distinguish product placement within the competitive arena.

  • In collaboration with field marketing, create demand generation programs to support sales growth and pipeline acceleration.

  • Identify marketing opportunities to drive awareness of Isilon scale-out storage solutions.

  • Track general business indicators, including market share, and competitor's marketing and sales program activities

  • Provide on-going management of the product marketing programs, contracts and agreements.

  • Build rich internal and external customer evidence/references sales enablement as well as internal/external marketing and promotion of the Isilon product.

  • Establish short-term and long-term goals and performance metrics in line with corporate objectives

  • Own PR and AR coordination with Dell Technologies Corporate, driving a strong thought leadership program.

  • Manage Isilon EBC team and customer/partner experience.

  • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including global locations/regions.

  • Marketing experience in the storage industry.

  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.

  • Strong people management skills required and demonstrated ability to manage multiple, critical projects is required.

  • Ability to understand and adopt new and emerging marketing strategies and tactics to reach the target audience. Strong understanding of content marketing and new formats of information consumption by the target audience.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience is required; 20+ years of experience is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects.

  • People management experience required.
