EMC Sr. Hardware Engineer, Signal Integrity - DSSD - Menlo Park in Menlo Park, California
DSSD is a Menlo Park, California-based developer of an innovative new rack-scale flash storage tier that is now part of Dell EMC’s Emerging Technology Products Division. DSSD’s architecture complements Dell EMC’s industry-leading flash storage portfolio and is designed to deliver game-changing performance for I/O-intensive in-memory database and Big Data applications such as SAP HANA and Hadoop. DSSD will operate as a standalone unit in Dell EMC’s Emerging Technology Products Division.
We are looking for a talented senior hardware engineer with a background in Signal Integrity and Power Signal Integrity to help develop the world’s fastest storage devices. Collaborate with software, operations and quality teams. Self-motivated team player, with a detail oriented and result focused work ethic.
What You'll Be Doing
Work closely with Board and System leads to develop future DSSD platforms
Perform SI and Power SI simulations
Perform board and system level validation
Provide material and stackup requirements to engineering
Assist with EMI and SI planning
Supporting model correlation efforts to improve confidence in design guidance
What We Need To See
MS/PhD in EE or BS w/ a minimum 5 years of experience as a SI/PI engineer
Solid proficiency with Hspice and Pspice
Strong understanding of electromagnetics, specifically electromagnetic waves including transmission line theory and via properties
Familiarity with high-speed I/O design concepts including clock generation, transmitter & receiver design, and equalization schemes
Exposure to interface timing budgets and system modeling
Passionate about SI/PI work
Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd
Previous I/O Circuit design experience and circuit behavioral modeling
Exposure to Memory Interfaces (LPDDR/DDR/GDDR)
Experience w/ Matlab, Python, or C
100G and PCIe Gen 3 experience
Experience with Cadence Concept and Allegro
