EMC Advisory Solutions Architect in Madison, Wisconsin

Job Description:


The Advisory Solutions Architect position within the Infrastructure Managed Services Division at Virtustream should be a services professional who provides leadership to the organization in the areas of services strategy and offerings, as well as business performance and execution as it relates to security functions. The Advisory Solutions Architect is expected to maintain relationships with the end to end lifecycle of customer on boarding which includes engagements with business development, transition teams, and the steady state. Serves as a thought leader and partner with internal and external constituents to transition the best possible outcomes.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Determines security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; studying architecture/platform; identifying integration issues; preparing cost estimates

  • Participates, as needed, as a technical expert in the pre-sales qualification and is responsible for the delivery of the technical architectural design, strategises and plans that will be delivered in the engagement. May be responsible for the creation of proposals that address current and evolving client requirements

  • Anticipates and plans for advanced vulnerability assessments (including live tests) of the infrastructure surrounding information resources.

  • Provides the guidance ensuring effective and efficient use of information security maintaining security lifecycle framework including, SOA, ISO27002 control set and assessment, information assets and classification.

  • Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets in both design, management, and handling. Enhance control measures and execute implementation of security related controls.

  • Binds the extended teams involved with deal pursuits ensuring all security needs are addressed and effectively operationally ready to progress to steady state.


  • CISSP certification required, CCSP preferred

  • ITIL v3 Foundations certificate preferred
